    Each individual record is its own uniquely woven and hand-printed specimen. Moments from the #neon-western #audio-diverse #soundcomic WENDY PFERD TOD MEXIKO (WENDY HORSE DEATH MEXICO), a production by the author Natascha Gangl and the electro-acoustic duo Rdeča Raketa (Osojnik & Schellander), are newly collaged and remixed on this single, resulting in two filmic miniatures that create new interpretations and listening experiences, and stand alone as works of art in their own right. The sound comic WENDY PFERD TOD MEXIKO was first presented at Ö1 - Kunst Radio and awarded the first prize of the Berlin Radio Play Festival in 2018. wendy.klingt.org

    The electroacoustic duo, RDEČA RAKETA, aka composers Maja Osojnik and Matija Schellander, together with the author Natascha Gangl, develop and perform acoustic works of art for which they invented the genre "sound comic" (ger. Klangcomic). As with comics, where words and images merge into one another, here it is the spoken word and sound which blend together. Anti-heroes and heroines are the protagonists here; their surreal to psychedelic journeys leading them through a dense fabric spun from compact sonic images. The artists eclectically combine literary and musical styles and make them their own in the finely woven compositions. The “sound comic” presents itself as a ready-to-broadcast radio play, as a sound carrier of unique design, and as an ever-evolving live performance.

MAMKA RECORDS publishes with MAM#03 – SUPERANDOME – SUPER RANDOM ME the third extraction from the sound-comic WENDY PFERD TOD MEXICO (#neon-western #audio-diverse #sound-comic). Following the singles “CHICKEN” (a punk mescaline ride on Afro-beat, over-polished, low-fi audio files, under the blaze of the desert sun) and “MI CORAZÓN” (a tribute to the magical realism of Mexico, in which the dubious and the melancholic join hands), the third and final single is about the ultimate collage. It is about seeing what is said in a new light, deconstructing it, reassembling it and creating cinematic miniatures that stand alone as independent sound art works. #cut-and-paste, #upcycling- madness-to-the-peak, #sound-comic-at-its-finest. Or to go with Marcel Proust’s solemn description: “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
